Your little one has a packed schedule. Among the things on the to-do list: thumb sucking, hiccupping and listening to your voice.

What's happening to your baby?

Baby now weighs between 790 and 960g, as much as a head of broccoli, and the senses are all developing quickly. Try eating a bowl of spicy chicken curry and you might feel baby's hiccups afterwards. Brain tissue is increasing and your little one's brain is very active. There might be a tendency for your baby to suck the fingers. Your baby's brain, lungs and digestive system still have some growing to do.

What's happening to you?

Keep an eye on your blood pressure as an elevated reading can be a sign of pre-eclampsia. Be sure to let your doctor know if you feel unwell. Your baby's good hearing means your little dear is probably mesmerised by the sound of your voice, so start talking to baby! Your womb is now the size of a basketball and the increased pressure on your body could result in cramping. Cramping of the legs is common and stretching exercises can help. Make sure you get a good dose of vitamin D and calcium with foods like milk, tuna, salmon and mushrooms! Or grab a glass of orange juice. This is important for both your and your baby's bones and teeth.
